Recoteca Terms of Use
Effective October 26, 2026. Contact: support@recoteca.com
These terms are an agreement between you and Ivan Petrini ("we"), who make Recoteca. By using Recoteca, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Using Recoteca
- Recoteca is free. You can use it without an account; signing in with Apple or Google is optional.
- You must be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.
- Keep your Apple or Google sign-in safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Don't misuse Recoteca: no automated access, scraping, overloading our servers, getting around limits, or using it to break the law or anyone's rights.
Titles found by AI
Recoteca finds the titles in the posts you share with Muse, Meta's AI, if you allow it. AI can be wrong: it can miss titles, name the wrong one, or get details such as years and authors wrong. Check before you rely on it. Where-to-watch information comes from TMDB and JustWatch and can be out of date.
What you and creators share
- Shared lists are seen by the people you invite. Only invite people you want to see the list.
- Creators who link their Instagram can make public lists of their recommendations. You're responsible for the names and descriptions you write, and they must follow the rules below.
- You keep the rights to what you write in Recoteca. You let us store it, show it to the people it's meant for (everyone, for a creator's public lists), and copy it as needed to run Recoteca.
Rules for content
Don't post or share anything that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, illegal, spam or advertising, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
Anyone can report a creator's list or page with Report in the app. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or remove the accounts behind it.
Other people's content and services
- Instagram posts, and creators' videos, belong to their owners. Recoteca shows them only through Instagram's official embed and links, and keeps the titles found in them, never the posts' text.
- Movie and show details and images come from TMDB (this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB), where-to-watch data from JustWatch, and book details from Apple Books and Open Library.
- Opening a link to another app or website (Instagram, a streaming service, a store) takes you to that service, under its own terms.
Store links
Some links to stores (Apple Books, Bookshop.org, Amazon, the Apple TV app, Fandango) are affiliate links: if you buy something, Recoteca may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change what Recoteca shows you.
Changes and ending
We may change Recoteca, add or remove features, or stop offering it. You can stop using it at any time and delete your account in Profile. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
If these terms change in an important way, we'll say so in the app or on this page before the change takes effect. Using Recoteca after that means you accept the new terms.
No warranty
Recoteca is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always work, be error-free, or that its information is accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, from using or being unable to use Recoteca. Our total liability for any claim is limited to 50 US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Recoteca or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims about it (including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or claims that it infringes someone's rights). If Recoteca fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid for it (nothing, as it's free); Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm that you aren't in a country under a US embargo, or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a country whose consumer law gives you more protection, that protection still applies.
